Since the early days of Oklahoma American Legion Boys State, the Boys State Band has provided the soundtrack for the week. Whether it is the Star Spangled Banner played at retreat or Oklahoma played for the Governor’s arrival, the Boys State Band is always prepared to make an already special week even better! At the end of the week, we get to celebrate all of the hard work and effort the band members have put in throughout the week by having a band concert. This isn’t your normal, run-of-the-mill band concert, but an interactive show where all of Boys State can thank the Boys State Band! For the band, it will be an event they will never forget!
Oklahoma American Legion Boys State knows that one of the best ways to set the tone for The Week That Shapes a Lifetime is through music. That’s why we have the Boys State Band and Boys State Choir help us with many parts of the program!
The Choir is a phenomenal group of young men that lend their voices to our Memorial Day Assembly and Call to Action Assembly. The preparation happens throughout the week of Boys State and always comes together nicely!
The Boys State Band has been around the program since the very early days. They will perform at every flag ceremony to play the National Anthem and also to get Boys State moving with a few fun songs! The band’s hard work culminates in a band concert near the end of each week. It is always a blast to see them perform!
